Hello! I hope all is well with you and your household! I would like to share with you some things that have been churning in my heart while I have been in Korea.
You may or may not know this, but I have planned to stay in Korea for another semester and will likewise be staying for the summer. One reason I have planned to stay in Korea is to be a part of a mission team heading to Japan from July 27 to August 3, 2012. My team and I plan to take a week of our vacation to minister to this nation to display the love of Jesus Christ and His splendor (Isaiah 61:3b). We are going on a vision trip, to help out the local churches in Japan and to evangelize to the nation. I want to see the spirit of joy poured out upon the nation of Japan as we interact with the local churches and evangelize to the Japanese. New Philly, the church I attend in Korea (www.newphiladelphiachurch.com), sent a team to Japan last summer that experienced God’s glory in Japan but we are ready to see God move to a higher glory as we head to Japan once again this year.
If you don’t know too much about Japan, only about one percent of the entire nation is Christian. The rest of the Japanese people claim to be Buddhist, Shinto, or shamanistic. Although it may seem that Japan has blockaded itself from the good news of Jesus Christ, I believe my team being sent from New Philly, has an anointing and authority over the words they speak and gifts that are given to move a nation. All the blessings that I have received from New Philly during my time here in Korea only shows how much more I need to pour out and be a spring of living water for others (John 7:38b).
Japan will be my first of hopefully many future mission trips. This is such an amazing opportunity, not only for me, but for you as well. If you would like to help make a difference in Japan as well, you can join with me in releasing a joy that will change the lives of an entire nation. First, you can partner with me in interceding on behalf of the mission team as well as the people of Japan. My personal prayer requests for this trip are:
1. Covering over the Japan team including me as we prepare for the trip
2. The nation of Japan to be open to the words of our Savior and
3. A higher glory to fall on the places we inhabit
Secondly, I am raising 250,000 Korean won (about 220.00 dollars) to help cover the cost of the trip. Although this is my goal, I am hoping to reach far beyond this number. I hope that you choose to join with me in changing the nations whether it is by praying for/with my team for Japan or to donate and support us monetarily.
