Hello! I just want to thank you so much in advance for taking the time to read my support letter. It means so much! As a mother of two, who has been out of the missions scene for more than five years now, it was a little bit daunting to respond to the Lord and say “Yes, Lord! Send me!” but my loving husband made it so easy, by blessing me to go without hesitation! So here I am, writing this letter to you.
From December 26 to January 1, I will be going to Sri Lanka with my church, New Philadelphia. My team consists of 11 people from across our 7 campuses, with some joining us all the way from Australia. This will be our church’s first missions trip to Sri Lanka and we are excited to forerun and break ground for future teams who will visit this country! We will be ministering at gatherings in the capital city of Colombo, in addition to remote village churches on the east coast. We will also be holding a joint revival service where the youth from across the country will come together in worship!
Currently, Sri Lanka has a population of about 20.5 million people and 70% of them are Buddhist. Sri Lanka has had a 25 year long violent civil war that ended in 2009, but still has lasting effects on the country. It is our prayers that the gospel and the love of Christ will heal the people and their land.
I hope that you will be able to partner with me in ministering to the Sri Lankan people! There are two ways that you can partner with me on this missions trip. First, please pray for me! Secondly, would you consider supporting me financially? My total trip will cost 1,500,000 won and after making my personal contributions need to raise 1,125,000 won. The Busan team is also hoping for overflow that will help cover our travel costs to and from Busan/Incheon Airport, which for me is an extra 145,000won.
