Burning hearts to see His kingdom come!

“Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I am doing a new thing;
    now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Isaiah 43:18-19

Dear Friends & Family,                                 ,

            げんきですか(Are you happy/healthy)? 私は とても うれしいです(I am very happy)! Why am I happy you ask? God has been blessing me every summer since 2011 to go to a nation that makes my heart melt with joy and burn to see God take His place as the one true God over the land. He has once again blessed me to go back to Japan for the third time this summer! How can I keep this blessing to myself! Please allow me to share with you, to partner with you, as God sends me and 12 others to Japan to continue His mighty work in preparing for the great harvest!

                My church, New Philadelphia Church (newphiladelphiachurch.com), is sending out 13 people to Tokyo, Japan from July 27 to August 3. I have also been given the honor to lead the team again this year. I realized as I was writing this letter, that the number being sent and the dates that we will be in Japan are actually the same as last year. The numbers, dates and places may be the same but God has already been showing me how different this year’s missions trip to Japan is going to be. God is one who takes us from glory to glory, shattering every ceiling that we think is as high as we can go. One marked difference about this year is that among the 13, we have two sisters who will be joining us from our sister church, Living Hope Christian Center in California. God must have something specific in mind in bringing our two houses together!

                We will be working with Pastor Tim and Christine of Ekklesia Christian Church in Noborito. Our relationship with Ekklesia and FUSE, another local bi-lingual ministry, has deepened over the past two years and we are excited to be able to go and serve them again. They all have such a huge heart for the Japanese people and they desire to see more and more come to Christ. We hope that we will be able to help as one of our primary focuses will be to evangelize while we are in Japan.

                I hope that as you were reading this letter, your heart was also being stirred up for what God is doing in Japan. I would like to ask you to prayerfully consider two requests. The first, I would like to ask you for your prayers.  Especially as I have been called to lead the team, I literally covet your prayers (James 5:16). J I would like to ask for prayer covering not only for while I am on the field but also during the preparation time and after I return. Please let me know if you would like to partner with me in this way. You can also follow the team’s time in Japan by going to facebook.com/newphilly to be updated on praise reports and prayer requests. Second, the total trip cost is 1,000,000 KRW, and after my own personal contribution, I need to raise 800,000 KRW. Would you like to financially sow not only into my trip but also into what God is doing in Japan? Please do not feel obligated but prayerfully consider my requests. If you would like to give financially, please visit support.newphilly.cc to support me directly there.

ありがとうございました(Thank you) for taking the time to read my letter.  God bless!

Faith, Hope & Love,
