If I say,
"I will not mention him, or speak anymore in his name,"
there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my
bones,
and I am weary with holding it in, and I cannot.
JEREMIAH 20:9
Hello friends!
I hope this letter finds you very well! I am excited to inform you about a missions trip that I will be a part of with New Philadelphia Church, this upcoming winter. If you are receiving this letter, it is because I highly value your support as a friend and would like you to be involved with what God is currently doing in my life. Together with a team of nine people, including myself, I will be sent out to Bangladesh from 30 January until 6 February, 2015.
As you may already know, I arrived in Seoul, Korea in early August of this year, as I felt God was challenging me to step outside of my comfort zone, in order to grow in more of my understanding of His heart for me, and to pursue Him with a greater zeal and fervency. In the few months that I have already been here, I can say with confidence that He has been faithful, and I have grown in ways that I would not have initially foresaw myself to. I am incredibly grateful especially for the community He has placed me in – New Philadelphia Church – where this growth has been fostered and encouraged by the love and prayers people have shown me. As an extension of the rapid spiritual growth I am presently experiencing, I feel a heavy conviction to be a part of this missions trip, as I firmly believe that not only am I called to receive, but also to serve and to ultimately be blessed by being a blessing!
As a part of our ministry, we will be going to unreached villages (predominantly Muslim and Hindu regions) of Jessore (western Bangladesh), to share the Gospel, love the unlovable, and heal the sick. Our ultimate desire is to share Jesus with those who have never encountered the truth and power of who He is in their lives. We will also be partnering with local pastors who oversee remote networks of home churches around the area, to empower them and strengthen them.
Firstly, I would like to ask for your prayer support! As they say, prayer support is life support, so it is crucial that we have people praying for us. Please pray for a greater revelation of God's heart for the people of Bangladesh, that we may minister to them from a place of overflow, and not of striving. Also, please pray for unity and spiritual protection over the team! Secondly, I would like to ask for your financial support. I will need to be raising 1,050,000 KRW (in addition to my personal payment 450,000 KRW) to cover the expenses of this trip. If you are willing, please follow the instructions that have been given on the website.
With much love and appreciation,
Hannah Chong
