From July 25 to August 1, I will be in Bangladesh serving on a mission trip with my church “New Philadelphia”. I will be one of twelve servant-hearted brothers and sisters. The whole team is giving up their vacation days and free time to go to this nation and display the beautiful and perfect love of our Lord. We will be focusing on stirring up revival, praying for the sick and raising up the next generation of God- centered Bengali people through prayer.
God’s love for Bangladesh is stirring my heart. The nation of Bangladesh has been in turmoil due to wars and political upheaval since its secession from Pakistan in 1971. Military and Muslim powers are still very influential in Bangladesh. They are more than ready to take over if and when the current democratic government should fail. 89% of the population claims to be Muslim and only 0.66% claims to be Christians. One missions researcher stated that, “the Bengali people are by far the largest unreached people group in the world.”
Although the need of Bangladesh seems great, our team believes that God will pour our even more love and grace to cover the depravity. Over half of the population of Bangladesh is under 16 years old. Our team is contending for a revival for the youth of Bangladesh. We believe that if the youth are one fire for God, they can change the whole nation!
I hope that you will share in my enthusiasm and joy at this open door. At this time I would like to ask you for your prayers. I would need a lot of prayers of covering and safety since I am going to a Muslim nation. Your prayers are crucial! I would like to recruit you to partner with me in prayer during my time in Bangladesh. Stand with me on the word of God from Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against us shall prosper! Also, in order to go, I must individually raise 850,000 KRW. Please partner with me in spreading God's love and mercy in Bangladesh!
