“…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.” (Acts 10:38 ESV)
Dear Family and Friends!
I hope that this letter finds you and your family abounding in the steadfast love of Jesus Christ, for He is faithful to finish the good work that He began in us, according to the riches of his kindness and grace. Whether I have enjoyed your presence in person lately or it’s been a long time since we last communicated face to face, know that you are very dear to my heart. So it is with great joy that I want to share with you something that is very important to me!
I am contacting you because it is missions season once again! From January 26 to February 2, I will be in Borneo, Malaysia with eight other short-term missionaries to proclaim boldly the power of God’s love and grace. Malaysia is a predominately Muslim country, and the area in which we will be ministering is still largely new to the gospel. My missions team will probably be leading revival services in small rural communities in the jungles near Miri, Malaysia. This trip is especially meaningful for me because my first mission trip ever was to Borneo back in 2011. After that trip, I was so amazed and inspired by what God had done, that I asked Him to one day send me back to lead more revival services. This trip is the fulfillment of that prayer—and I will be going as the team preacher! As we prepare, I have been very stirred to see God minister powerfully to the sick. Many of the people to whom my team will be ministering live without running water or electricity. There are no local hospitals, and doctors are equally scarce. As we prepare to depart, I am asking that God would anoint me as he anointed Jesus to “[do] good and [heal] all who are [are] oppressed by the devil” (Acts 10:38).
Hoping that you will share in my enthusiasm for what God wants to do in Borneo, I could really use your prayer support during this time. Please pray that Acts 10:38 would be the heart of my ministry in Malaysia, and that my team would overflow with the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22). Additionally, I need to raise 800,000krw (about $800) to cover the remainder of my trip costs (1,400,000krw). If you are able to contribute, please visit our support website and give before January 1, 2015.
Thank you for reading!
much love always,
Todd Baty
