And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgivness of your sins, and you will receive the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself. Acts 2:38-39
Dear Family and Friends,
Just about this time last year I was preparing to come to Korea. I was excited and nervous about what my life would be like, and more than I care to admit I was afraid of failure. How my life has changed is more than I could have ever hoped for or imagined.
Here we are almost 1 year later and I have the opportunity to go to Borneo Malaysia, on a one week mission trip with New Philadelphia Church. I’m very excited and a little nervous. Since this is my first mission trip I am expecting great things! New Philly has already established relationships with this area and we will be going back to re-establish old relationships and make new. We will be spending time with the people who attend the churches in the area, and holding revival services at night.
For those who don’t know Borneo is an island that three countries share. We will be on the Malaysian part of the island, located in the north. Malaysia is primarily a Muslim nation, about 60 percent practice Islam. However approximately 10 percent are Christian.
I would be so grateful if you would consider supporting me in two ways, first and foremost prayer. Pray for unity among our team members, pray for safety, and for God to move powerfully thru each of us. Second, financially. The total cost of the trip is 1,400,000 KRW or approximately $1400. I need to raise 1,000,000 KRW or $1000. If you would like to contribute financially please visit the New Philly support raising website: http://support.newphilly.cc under the projects tab search for Borneo and then my name. Please keep in mind that its approximately 1,000 KRW to $1 so please convert the currency when donating.
Thank you for reading my letter, and please consider supporting me! I’m really looking forward to this experience and what God has planned for the people of Borneo!
Love,
Amanda
