Dear family and friends,
I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and in peace! I want to take this time to share with you about a short-term mission trip I’ll be serving on this winter.
God has given me an opportunity to join my church “New Philadelphia”(newphiladelphiachurch.com) to go on a winter mission trip to Cambodia from Jan 28 to Feb 4, 2013 with a team of 12 servant-hearted leaders. Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world because of more than two decades of isolation, war and holocaust by the Khmer Rouge. During this time period, as many as 2 million men, women and children were killed. The war also destroyed the basic infrastructure and social services of Cambodia. During the Killing Fields, between 1975-1979, Pol Pot eliminated most of the educated Cambodians and the surviving illiterate farmers and widows (who were the majority of the population) had to rebuild the nation. I strongly believe that God is doing something new and he’s bringing economic and spiritual increase for this nation!
We will be ministering in Kampot Province with Pastor Ran Kimeng, he has three church plants and oversees a growing youth outreach ministry as well as a child sponsorship and orphan care program. I am excited to meet the local pastors and to build relationships with them!
I was able to join this mission team by God’s grace! God is stirring my heart for Cambodia more and more at this hour. I’d like to ask you to join me in prayer for this nation and for this trip. Your support and prayers are essential as we break through the grounds to bring the good news. Also, in order to go, I must raise 1,300,000 KRW in total to cover some of the trip expenses, and if God leads you to support me in this way, please visit our online support site: support.newphilly.cc. I hope you will be able to share in the amazing testimonies! I really appreciate your support and I look forward to hearing from you! God bless!
Yours truly,
Jen Kim
