“And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” (Mark 16:15-17)
Dear Friends, Cheers from Korea~ I hope that this letter finds you and your family vibrant and joyful in the Lord! I would like to share with you a missions trip that I have been called to serve in this Winter season.
From February 2 to February 11, I will be in Cambodia serving on a Hip Hop Dance missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia” (newphiladelphiachurch.com). My team consists of 12 servant-hearted dancers and believers who are giving up their Winter vacation to go to this nation and display the love of Jesus Christ. Our team will conduct outreach by street preaching and dancing, in addition to orphanage ministry, youth evangelism training, and village revival services. New Philadelphia first visited Cambodia in 2009; however, this is the 3rd New Philly team being sent to this country.
For this season’s missions trip, our home base will be NPWM (Native Partners for World Mission) Cambodia Mission Center. NPWM personally connects to local ministers on the mission field, with over 200 pastors in 20 previously unreached nations. Their Cambodia center is shared with the New Hope for Orphans Phnom Penh complex. This will especially facilitate powerful relationships with the youth of the childrens home as we train them up for evangelism, and minister to them with God’s anointing through dance and village revival services. Pastor Vanna, a youth ministry pastor and direct disciple of Pastor Sinai (NPWM Cambodia National Director) will serve as our pastor contact in Cambodia.
I am super ecstatic about going into the field! If you are aware of the history of Cambodia, you know that in the 70s, the Khmer Rouge slaughtered millions of Cambodians in the name of communism. Unfortunately, the nation is currently fraught by modern day slavery, and there are 1.2 million children trafficked every year. As the nation struggles to rebuild socially and economically, many families trade in their youth for funds. With 35% of Cambodia’s 15,000 prostitutes under the age of 16, it is our prayer that the gospel will heal families as well as the land.
I hope that you will join in my fervor for the people of this nation. You can partner with me on this missions trip in two ways. First, I’d like to ask you for prayer. If you go to facebook.com/newphilly, there will be daily updates from the field of our team’s progress so you can contend for Cambodia in a specific manner. Second, I will be raising 300,000 KRW to cover some of the trip expenses. Thank you for reading and allowing me to share with you God's heart this season!
Much love,
Halima Dodo
