“And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” – Ephesians 2:17-19
Hello,
If you are receiving this letter, it is because I highly value our relationship and I want to share with you about an upcoming missions trip that I will be partaking in. From December 26 until December 31, I will be going to Chennai, India with a team of 13 people, including myself. While visiting Chennai, our main ministry will consist of visiting the locals and preaching and sharing the love of God to them, building relationships with them, and ultimately serving them and their needs.
Chennai is the capital state of Tamil Nadu, one of the twenty-nine states of India. It is also known to have the greatest cultural, economic and educational influence in South India. In 2015, Chennai was labelled as the ‘hottest city’ by BBC with the rating scale being based on liveability, due to its mixture of traditional and modern values. Chennai is also known to be the most visited city by foreign tourists, as well as expatriates, in India.
With that being said, I am very much excited to be visiting Chennai and immerse myself within its culture and its people. My ultimate desire is to be able to cross cultural divides and barriers, by simply sharing the love of Christ to them. In God, I believe there are no such ethnic, cultural nor social differences too great to be able to reach people with the Gospel – in Him, His children are called to be one people united by the same spirit. I would love for you to share with me in my journey, by partnering with me in two ways: firstly I will need your prayer while on the missions field; as they say, prayer support is life support! Your prayers will most definitely be needed. Secondly, I will need to be raising some personal funds for this trip – this is a way for you to not invest into me as per say, but to invest into the nation of India. Please see it as a way as blessing the people of India! I will need to be raising 1,150,000 krw (around $1000 AUD), along with my own personal contributions.
Love,
Hannah
