Greetings, my friends and family. How are you? I pray all is well with you.
As you may know, I went to Myanmar last year early February and I have always been thinking of my time there, seeing the local people worshipping God in their own language and their own way of expressing their love to God. God has been tugging me to go on a mission trip again, as a vessel to bless His beloved people.
Every winter New Philadelphia Church sends off several teams to different nations to partner with the local pastors in encouraging the believers there. From December 26th to January 1st I will be going to Chennai, India, together with 12 other passionate lovers of Christ.
Something interesting about Chennai: Did you know that Thomas, one of Jesus’ disciple was martyred near Chennai? He was martyred in St. Thomas Mount in the southern part of the city. No wonder God keeps Chennai so dear to His heart. Chennai is also one of the highest population of Christians in the major cities, taking up 7.6% of the city’s population.
In Chennai, we will be ministering to people of different castes in the local churches, schools and villages. Also, we will be ministering to local pastors and leaders through revival services. I hope my letter and the video got you excited for the people in Chennai as much as I do. I would like to ask for your partnership in this mission trip. There are two ways that you can partner with me. First, I would like to ask for your prayers. If you would like to pray for me, let me know and I will update you with the specific prayer requests as we are preparing for the trip. The other way would be through finances. I am contributing 50% of my trip expenses and will be raising 800,000 KRW to cover the other half of my trip expenses.
