Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. (Romans 12:15)
Dearest friends and family,
How are you?! 2013 is drawing to a close, and I hope that these
last couple of weeks left will be full of quality times spent with loved ones and rich
reflections on the goodness of God throughout the past year in
your lives.
For the past 6 months, I have
been able to connect and grow deep roots in a
community
called New Philadelphia Church here
in Seoul, South Korea after doing some missions work with YWAM for
the past year and a half.
Through being here and being under this house, I have been
challenged particularly to trust in the Lord to be my absolute security wherever
I go and whoever I
am with. And He has been faithful to fill me
up! Not
only that but God
has been transforming my heart more and more to
love my father with
the Father’s love. It’s been surprising me because it’s something only
God could have done, and continues to do. I believe God has also been
continuously equipping me and so when this opportunity came to go
on missions again, I had to grab hold of it.
From January 31 to February 10, I will be in Chennai, India along with 11 others from this church. Many of my teammates are full-time workers in different spheres of society, and are already living missional lifestyles as most of them are actually not from Korea. I am excited to see how God will use each one of us to manifest Christ.
South India was the mission field of the Apostle Thomas, thus
is an important hub of
Christianity for India. We will be having
leadership training,
school outreach, and hosting revival services. This is also the
first team that will
be sent out to Chennai, so there will be some groundbreaking
work! I am expectant because it is a land where there has been a wealth of
history with the Lord. We want to join in on what our contact -
Pastor Mathew has
already been doing and be a great blessing and strength to
him.
Capturing God’s heart and seeing other people groups worship in
their own expression, within their cultures is a wonder. I hope that you will
share in my enthusiasm. There are two ways in which you can
partner with me.
First, I’d like to ask you for prayer. If you go
to facebook.com/newphilly,
there will be daily
updates from the field of our
team’s progress so you can pray specifically. Secondly, I will
be raising 750,000 krw (approx.
$710) to cover some
of the trip expenses (the other half has been paid for through
personal contribution). If you’d like to help, you can support
me right here on this website!
