Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” –Matthew 9:37-38
Dear friends,
I hope that this letter finds you and your family healthy and rejoicing in the Lord.
Jamie and I are in Korea training for our upcoming Sydney church plant, which will be a new campus of New Philadelphia Church. One of New Philly’s core commitments is to be missional: sending teams on missions trips, supporting missions efforts, and planting churches throughout global cities.
This winter, I have the privilege of leading a team of nine people to the state of Manipur in Northeast India from Feb 2 to Feb 13. Even as recently as a couple years ago, this politically volatile region was ridden with conflict between different ethnic groups. But the Lord has been transforming the area through His love and power into a place that is experiencing increasing peace and prosperity. Manipur is now considered an important Christian hub in India.
This is the third time New Philly is sending a team to Manipur and connecting with Pastor Letlal, a native pastor who is also a longtime missions friend of New Philly. Our ministries will focus on reaching out to the children, providing training for young church leaders, and holding revival services to breathe new life into the local ministries.
I would love for you to share my excitement and partner with me for this trip. First, I’d like to ask you for your prayers. If you go to facebook.com/newphilly, you will find daily updates from the field of our team’s progress so you can pray specifically. Second, I will be raising 1,500,000 KRW (approximately $1,450 USD) to cover trip expenses. I’ve already contributed 200,000 KRW of my own funds, which leaves 1,300,000 KRW that I must raise in order to go.
Would you consider partnering with me both in prayer and financial support? Through your support, you’ll be sowing into a great harvest and I know that you will be blessed through witnessing what God does in India.
God bless!
Paul Yoo
