Missions 2017
January 9-16th, 2017—Manado, Indonesia
“I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” - Jesus, John 17:26
Dear Friends and Family,A whole year has come and gone already! How can that be? It is once again Missions season at New Philadelphia Church. I have the privilege and the honor to once again be sent out by my church community to minister to those in need of God. This year I will be traveling with 9 other team members to Manado, Indonesia to empower and build up the local church community, as well as reach out to non-believers.
Manado at a Glance
Manado is a city in Indonesia’s North Sulawesi province. Manado itself is situated in the bay of Manado and is surrounded by mountains. It has a population of 430,000, and the people speak a creole of the Malay language, called Manado Malay. The majority of Indonesian people follow Islam which has caused unrest towards their first Christian president in their capital city, Jakarta. While Manado is removed from this, the tensions are felt all over the nation. Yet, despite the prominence of Islam, Manado is home to some of the largest and most influential Christian Churches in its province.
I need your help.
In order to reach the people of Manado and empower the local churches there, I need your help. First, I ask that you partner with me in prayer for the team and the people of Manado. Please pray that the tea would be bound together in unity, and for the people to be powerfully impacted by God. Secondly, I’d like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with me financially. I will be putting 800,000KRW towards this trip. I am asking that you help me raise the remaining 800,000KRW.
Thank you for reading, I look forward to partnering with you!
