“For this is what the LORD has commanded us:
‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring
salvation to the ends of the earth’”
-Acts 13:47-
Greetings! How are you? I hope that his letter finds you and your family in perfect health and rejoicing in the Lord! Iwould like to take this time to share with you about a missions trip that I’ll be serving in this summer with my church.
From July 23rd to the 30th, I will be in Myanmar serving on a missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia Church” (newphiladelphiachurch.com). My team consists of 13 servant-hearted people, ranging from university students, teachers, and full time ministers, who are giving up their vacation days and free time to go to the nation and display the love of Jesus Christ. We will be working with a native pastor, Pastor Zam, who is involved with NPWM (Native Partners for World Mission), founded my our mother church Jeil Sungdo Church (제일성도교회). We will be doing children’s ministry, evangelizing and hosting revival services.
This is my third missions trip with New Philadelphia Church and I cannot express with enough words how excited I am. God has shown me incredible things in the past two missions trips I have been on, and I cannot imagine what is to come this summer. As you may already know, Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is under dictatorship and has experienced many conflicts and political instability. About 4% of the population is Christian yet they face serious persecution even today. It is our prayer that as we go in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the good news of the Gospel will bring peace, hope, and salvation.
I hope that you will share in my enthusiasm and joy at this open door. At this time I would like to ask you to partner with me first in prayer. Your prayers are powerful and it is so important for us to be covered in prayer as we begin our missions training. Secondly, in order to go, I must individually raise 750,000 krw to cover some of the trip expenses and support the local missionaries. Thank you for reading.
Sincerely yours,
Jisu Choi
