Hi friend, thank you for reading!
From January 30 – February 6, I will be in Nepal serving on a mission trip with my church in Korea “New Philadelphia” (newphiladelphiachurch.com). Along with 10 others, we'll be visiting pastors who work with the people of Nepal and also Tibetan refugee communities. On this trip, we will be empowering the youth leaders, praying for the sick and holding revival services in Kathmandu and Hetauda, Nepal. My main role on this team will be as a photographer. I am excited to use my skills to capture moments and reveal stories that are unseen.
Nepal is a beautiful country, encompassed with the highest of
mountains and deep valleys. It is known for being a resting place
for pilgrims, travellers and traders. Despite it’s beauty, it
struggles as one of the poorest countries in the world.
Politically it is unstable, as it is still reeling from the
ramifications of the Nepalese Civil War, or the People’s war.
Many people are still unaccounted for. It is our prayer
that the gospel and God’s love will heal this land it’s
people.
This trip is significant for me as well. The last time I went on
a mission trip with New Philadelphia Church I was able to really
grow as a person, discover my passion in photography and calling
and encounter God in so new ways as my provider, healer and
Father. I believe this is a great time for me to grow in my
relationship with the Lord and see what He has in store for my
future and me.
I hope that you will share in my excitement. There are two ways in which you can partner with me on this missions trip. First, I’d like to ask you for prayer. Prayer for strength, good health, team harmony and for God’s love to be revealed to the people of Nepal. If you go to facebook.com/newphilly, there will be daily updates from the field of our team’s progress for you to be up to date and pray for specifics. Secondly, I will be raising funds for this trip. The total cost of the trip is 1,700,000 KRW ($1,530) but I will be raising 1,190,000 KRW ($1,080 USD), after my own contribution, to cover some of the trip expenses, including flight, food, accommodations and resources for various ministries.
