“He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of His people He will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken. It will be said on that day, ‘Behold this is our God; we have waited for Him, that He might save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for Him; let us be glad and rejoice in His salvation.’” -- Isaiah 24:8-9 (ESV)
Dear Online Supporter,
It has been just about one year since my last missions trip, and what a journey this year has been! Through serving with the college ministry Emmaus over this past year, God has taught me a lot about what it means to father the fatherless, what it means to walk in complete faith and trust in Him, and what leadership is truly all about. Considering who I am now compared to the me of last year, I am so excited to be going back onto the missions field!
This winter I will be going on my third missions trip with New Philadelphia Church; this time to the nation of Nepal! Our church hasn’t been to Nepal in several years, and our team is greatly looking forward to finally returning! This year, my team consists entirely of leaders at our church, and actually four of our ten members have been serving alongside me in our college ministry, Emmaus! I don’t think it’s coincidence, because we will be reaching out to the youth of Nepal.
One verse that stood out to me as we began preparing for this trip, and that was the verse i placed at the top of this letter, Isaiah 24:8-9. I really feel that this is going to be a key time for Nepal. I honestly don’t know a whole lot about the nation of Nepal, but I do know that God’s heart for Nepal is enormous and this trip is going to mark a fresh beginning for many of the people there! It is His desire to take all their pain, all their sorrow, and all affects of death! I know that He’s going to use our team to release freedom, joy, praise, healing, and salvation! I’m so excited!!
With all of this in mind, I would like to ask you to partner with me this winter. Missions teams cannot go out without being sent and supported by the Body of Christ. You don’t need to travel on missions in order to be a part of God’s ministry in Nepal! All of your prayers and support are an incredibly vital part of our missions team. My personal financial goal this time around is W1,050,000. This is not a small amount, so every little bit counts! Also realize that as you support me, you are only increasing your ability to receive from our Father in Heaven! If you feel led to support me, whether in finances or in prayer, please follow the applicable directions online at: http://support.newphilly.cc.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter, and I look forward to returning bags full of testimonies from the field!
In Christ and with blessings,
Matthew Ko
