Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings! How are you? I hope that this letter finds you and your family well and rejoicing in the Lord! I want to take this time to share with you about a missions trip that I’ll be serving in this winter.
From January 24 to January 31, I will be in the Philippines serving on a missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia” (newphiladelphia.com). My team consists of 12 members who are spirit-filled and have a heart to serve the people in General Santos by demonstrating the love of Jesus unto them. During this time we will visit churches in the local area praying for the sick and preaching the good news of the kingdom of God.
I am truly excited and waiting upon the Lord to manifest Himself in magnificent ways. I believe that our Lord will definitely do mighty works during this trip as we go led by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is our prayer that people encounter the love of Jesus and be transformedfrom the inside out. This trip is definitely an opportunity for me to grow more in my walk with God and be his light as he has called unto us.
Following is a brief history about General Santos. General Santos is an area in the southern end of the Philippines and has also been known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. In the 14th century there was a great influence of Muslim merchants that converted this area into Islam. However, in 1939, General Paulino Santos and a group of Protestants immigrated and settled there and his name became the name of the city. Now the dominant religion is Roman Catholic. We are pressing on with fast and prayer that God will start preparing the hearts of the people in General Santos and that the sick would experience healingand the captives freedom.
It is my hope that you would join me in this time of joy and excitement as God continues to open doors and display more of His glory and power. At this time, I would like to ask you for your prayers as a covering before my trip and throughout the course of it. Additionally, in order to go to this missions trip I must individually raise 700,000 krw from which I would like to ask you to support me. Currently, I am in Korea as an exchange student and limited financially. However, I know the Lord has definitely opened this door for a great purpose in my life and I will truly be blessed by your support.
