“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation…Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us.” 2 Corinthians 5:18, 20
Greetings! How are you? I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you my plans for this winter.
From February 7th to the 14th, I will be in Dumaguette, Phillipines serving on a missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia” (www.newphiladelphiachurch.com). My team consists of twelve servant-hearted people who are giving up their vacation days and free time to spread the love of Jesus Christ.
Dumaguette is an area that was hit quite badly by Typhoon Haiyan this past November. Fortunately, by the time we arrive, most of the urgent relief work will have been implemented, leaving their physical needs met. Consequently, our team will help unpack trauma and restore hope to the local people through village outreach and revival services.
For the first time, I will be serving as the main preacher for my team. I’m a bit nervous, not because I have to preach, but because of the people I will be preaching to. These people have lost their families, homes and their physical possessions. The task may seem daunting, but I’m humbled and honored to preach the one and only gospel of hope with the ministry of reconciliation, the good news of Jesus Christ.
Will you consider partnering with me in reaching the Philippines? There are two ways in which you can partner with me. First, I’d like to ask you for PRAYER. If you go to facebook.com/newphilly, there will be daily updates of our team’s progress from the field so that you can pray specifically into what we are doing and what our needs may be. Secondly, the total trip cost is 1,200,000 KRW but after my personal contribution of 200,000 KRW, I will need to raise 1,000,000 KRW. Would you join me in this missions opportunity to do what God is already doing in the Philippines?
Thank you for taking the time to read. I am excited God has given me the opportunity to partner with you! God bless you!
Until the Whole World Hears,
David Ahn
