While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
Dear Family and Friends,
It’s that time of year, when we are approaching the holiday season. Thanksgiving is almost upon us and Christmas is just a quick month away. As most of you know I have been living and working in Busan, South Korea for almost three years now. I always look forward to going home for Christmas, however, this year I feel God is calling me to serve on my second short term mission trip in Sri Lanka. Im so blessed to be able to spend time with family and friends the beginning of the month and also honor Gods Calling.
Sri Lanka is a multi-religious country, 70 percent are Buddhists, the Muslim religion and Hinduism come in 2nd and third, while only 7.4 percent are Christian, of that approximately 82 percent are Roman Catholic. This is the first time New Philadelphia Church has served in this country. Breaking new ground can be challenging however we are expectant to see how God moves on this trip.
I will be so grateful if you would consider supporting me in two ways, first and foremost prayer. Pray for unity among our team members, pray for safety, and for God to move powerfully thru each of us. Second, financially. The total cost of the trip is 1,500,000 KRW or approximately $ 1,500 I need to raise 550,000 KRW or $550.00 If you would like to contribute financially please visit the New Philly support raising website: http://support.newphilly.cc under the PROJECTS TAB search for Sri Lanka and then my name. Also please keep in mind that it is approximately 1,000 KRW to $1 so please convert the currency when donating.
Thank you for reading my letter, and please consider supporting me. I’m really looking forward to seeing what God has planned for Sri Lanka!
Love,
Amanda
