“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvations belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’”
Revelation 7:9-10
Dear Family and friends,
I hope this letter finds you well. It’s only been a little over 3 months since I’ve moved to Korea and came back into New Philadelphia Church, but I almost feel like it’s been a year there’s so much that has been going on. One of those things is that I will be going for missions to Thailand this upcoming January, and I wanted to take a minute to tell you about it. As I’ve been growing deeper in love with God, God has deepening my passion for His work in gathering the nations unto Himself.
Thailand is the 21st most populated country in the world, with approximately 64 million people, of whom 95% practice Buddhism. New Philadelphia Church will be sending a team of 16 mighty warriors into the thick of the battle-- including 3 brothers and sisters from ECF, an English ministry in Melbourne, Australia-- believing that the redeeming love of Christ cannot be kept within the four walls of a church, but should be taken where it is needed the most, much like the light of the world shouldn’t be kept under a bowl, but should be put on a stand for it to shine into darkness (Matthew 5:14-16). We will be leaving for Thailand on this upcoming January 16th, and will come back by the 27th, and our team will be focusing on bringing revival to the youth, in addition to doing flood relief work. We will also be partnering with local pastors and long-term native missionaries who faithfully serve in this nation.
I’d like to ask you to partner with me as we set out to do this, knowing we cannot do this without God, and we cannot do it without a family of faith. There are two ways in which you can partner: in prayer and through financial giving. For the first, you can visit New Philadelphia’s Facebook page for prayer requests (updated real-time while on the field) so you can know what to specifically pray for. For the second, I need to raise a total of $600,000krw (or about $550 USD) to cover some of the trip expenses, and would greatly appreciate any help, no matter how “small” (you can do it through http://support.newphilly.cc for your convenience). All financial contributions need to be received by January 6th at the latest.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you so much for your time—I hope to bring back and share amazing stories of God’s faithfulness!
In Him,
Susy Park
