Dear Beloved Friends,
Greetings! How are you? I hope that his letter finds you and your family in perfect health and rejoicing in the Lord! I would like to take this time to share with you about a missions trip that I’ll be serving in this Winter with my church.
From January 16th to the 27th, I will be in Thailand serving on a missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia Church” (newphiladelphiachurch.com). My team consists of 16 servant-hearted people, ranging from university students, teachers, and full time ministers, including 3 brothers and sisters from an English ministry in Melbourne, Australia, who are giving up their vacation days and free time to go to the nation and display the love of Jesus Christ. We will be working with a native pastor involved in the NPWM (Native Partners for World Missions), founded my our mother church Jaeilsongdo Church (제일성도교회), doing relief work in the flooded areas, encouraging the pastors and missionaries, as well as other forms of ministry.
This is my second missions trip with New Philadelphia Church and I am so excited and full of expectations. Thailand is the only nation in southeast Asia to never be colonized, but rather to have always been ruled by a king. Over 95% of the Thai people are members of the Theravada Buddhist sect, and only 0.7% of the total population are Christians. Also, Thailand has recently been hit by a massive flood, which has been the worst in decades, killing about 350 people. It is our hope and prayer to bring supernatural joy and hope, and especially the gospel and the love of Jesus Christ our Saviour, in the midst of loss and despair.
