“The Lord roars from Zion, and utters His voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake.
But the Lord is a refuge to His people, a stronghold to the people of Israel. So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be holy, and strangers shall never again pass through it. And in that day the mountains shall drip sweet wine and the hills shall flow with milk
and all the streambeds of Judah shall flow with water and a fountain shallcome forth from the house of the Lord and water the Valley of Shittim.”
Joel 3: 16-18
Dear Supporter,
Hello! How are you? I hope this letter finds you in a place of basking in the goodness of the Lord! I am writing to you to share with you about a mission trip that I will be going on this summer.
From July 27th - August 3rd, I will be in Thailand serving on a missions team from my home church “New Philadelphia Church.” (newphiladelphiachurch.com) I also have 15 other amazing brothers and sisters that are going with me. All them have given up their vacation days to spend on the missions field, to spread the goodness of God. While we are at Thailand we will be visiting different churches, meeting with local pastors, ministering to the sick and hosting revival services.
As you know, Thailand has had its share of hardships. In 2004, Thailand experienced a devastating earthquake and tsunami that led to the death of hundreds of thousands of people. There has also been other earthquakes since then. Thailand also has one of the biggest markets for sex tourism, where men from all over the world travel through Thailand just to pay for sex. This is why I thought Joel 3: 16-18 was so fitting. I believe that God is moving in Thailand to bring redemption to this nation that He loves so much. I believe that God is going to display His power and glory in Thailand through the manifestation of His love.
The last time I went on missions twith New Philly was in the summer of 2011. I had the privilege of going to the nation of Bangladesh where God’s glory shined and close to 3,000 Bengalis gave their lives to the Lord. Other missions teams have experienced incredible healings of the sick! Our church’s theme this year is, “The Year of Increase.” We are all expectant of how God is going to increase His signs and wonders in the first missions season of this year.
I know your heart is burning with excitement at this opportune moment from God to spread the good news to the nation of Thailand. I would love and greatly appreciate it if you would partner with me. I would like to ask you to mobilize your prayers to cover my team and myself as we are preparing and also while we are on the field. Your prayers are powerful and crucial! Also, in order for me to go on this trip, I need to raise 950,000KRW (about $950). This is another way you can sow into this missions trip and see it grow! Thank you for reading my letter and God bless!
Yours truly,
Sarah Won
