They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
Isaiah 61:4
Dear friends,
Let me tell you my story.
My name is River (Trang Ha). I was born and grew up in Vietnam. This land is heavily wounded by the curses of war, death, and idolatry. Since I was as little as 3 years old, my grandmother took me to many temples from the north to the south of Vietnam, from the high mountains to the low valley to worship idols. My childhood was infused with fear, and demonic oppression. When I was 19 years old, I left Vietnam to go to study abroad in the US. This was where I encountered the love of Jesus, be redeemed and set free. Then God called me back to Vietnam to serve my people, to bring the love of Christ to heal the deep hurts in this nation.
It was a struggle to come back to the place that I was wounded the most, but I chose to take this step of obedience to a be part of what God is doing in Vietnam. I know God loves this nation, and his heart yearns for his lost sons and daughters to return to him.
This spring, from January 18-27th, I will join New Philadelphia Church’s mission trip in Ho Chi Minh City, south of Vietnam. We would like to partner with God in the powerful works He is doing in this country. And if you would like to be a part of this journey as well, I humbly ask for your support in prayers and finances. In order to make this trip happen, I need a total of 550,000 KRW (~470 USD), in which 30% is my personal contribution and the rest is my support raising goal. I believe prayers are powerful, and all financial support, no matter what the amount, is a seed that God will use to multiply and bless many others.
Thank you so much for listening! I believe God is writing a beautiful story for you as well.
With love and blessings,
River
