Dear beloved,
My church loves doing mission trips! Every winter and summer, without fail, my church sends God’s people out to share the love, grace, and power of the Holy Spirit to many other nations. In increasing measure, God is moving powerfully on these trips. People are made whole physically, emotionally, and spiritually in matters of minutes. We go forth, planting God’s seeds of life and blessing, to nations that reap bountifully after we depart.
This season, I have been called to Australia! Our team will be leading a conference for a local church. Honestly, I am curious to why I was selected for this trip. I am known for going to the jungle bush of South East Asia. People around the church sometimes call me Mogli (from the Jungle Book), Tarzan, or tell me ‘the Cambodian is back.‘ Although I love the jungle, as I have been praying and getting excited for this concrete jungle, I feel a tugging for a couple of things. One is the heart for worship and praise, and another is to build kingdom relationships. I love to be in the presence of God, serving Kingdom First Prayer Tabernacle as a musician, and serving NPC as an electric guitarist. Another thing I love is people. I love going deep with friends, remaining committed and faithful, through thick and thin, across oceans and seasons, all in steadfast love. I feel these are things I can really give as a blessing to the brothers and sisters of Australia.
So why are you getting this letter? I want your money, but I also want you to be blessed. One thing, to say the least, is that you are sewing into some amazing work in the nations. Another is, God blesses those who give joyfully. It all takes a bit of faith. It’s a bit ironic because money was the reason I didn’t want to go on missions (I guess it wasn’t much of an excuse) and happens that this trip is the most expensive trip by a large margin. The total trip cost is 1.7 mil Korean Won. I need to raise 850,000 KRW as well as contribute that amount equally out of my personal budget. Lets watch God move.
Although your money is good, what our team, Australia, myself, needs is your prayers. Please pray for our team unity, God’s spirit to manifest himself, Pastor Christian and Pastor Erin as our conference speakers. Please pray for divine friendships as I am expectant on that, and that a heart of undignified worship would grow even more.
