Dear Friends and Family,
Hello! How are you? Thank you for taking the time to read through this letter. I wanted to take this time to share with you about a missions trip that I’ll be serving in this summer.
From July 24 to August 1, I will be in Bangladesh serving on a missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia” (newphiladelphiachurch.com). My team consists of 13 servant-hearted people who are giving up their vacation days and free time to go to this nation and display the love of Jesus Christ. We will be visiting church plants in various towns and cities, praying for the sick, and hosting revival services.
I’m so excited to go. I would have never imagined that I would be going to Bangladesh. Bangladesh is one of the poorest countries in the world. Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan for 24 years. Despite becoming independent in 1971, there has been constant political and military unrest in Bangladesh. With instability in the country, the country has not been able to eradicate poverty. It has always been a priority in my heart to do whatever I can to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with my God in regards to people living in poverty. During my short stay I hope for my heart to grow deeper with compassion for people who are suffering with poverty.
While we are in Bangladesh for one week we plan to host revival services with the current local churches there. Through our prayers and interactions it is our hope that the churches will be strengthened. We especially hope to reach out to the youth of Bangladesh. Over half their population is under the age of 16. As we reach out to the youth, we hope that they will be radically transformed to become influential people for the future of Bangladesh.
I hope that you will share in my enthusiasm and joy at this open door. At this time, I’d like to ask you for your prayers. The covering and blessings from a prayer will protect me as I go into a new country. I would like you to partner with me in prayer during my time in the field. As it is my first time going on a missions trip with New Philadelphia Church I need a lot of prayer covering especially to have a heart of patience, grace and compassion. Also, in order to go, I must individually support raise 850,000 krw in addition to the 650,000 krw I have personally contributed. Please consider supporting me financially and with prayers.
