This winter break, from December 27 to January 3, I have the honor of returning to Phnom Penh, Cambodia for missions with 12 other New Philadelphia Church warriors to minister and release God’s heart in the orphanages and the slums.
I simply cannot express how excited I am about this trip!
On my first mission trip to Cambodia almost 2 years ago, one thing God continued to highlight to me was the young generation. As I walked through the Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh, I was appalled at how many children’s lives were taken during the reign of the Khmer Rouge. My heart broke at the injustice and devastation Cambodia has faced, but as soon as we began to minister, I began to see another story that God was writing for this nation.
It seemed like everywhere we went, children appeared out of nowhere. At the revival services, as we walked around villages to evangelize, and during our orphanage ministry, we met children who were on fire for Jesus and followed us around everywhere to minister with us.
Of this I am certain: God has especially set apart the young people of Cambodia. Though the enemy tried to wipe out an entire generation of children, now the Lord is raising up an army within this young generation for His purposes!
The world may look on Cambodia, it’s past, and on those children in the orphanages and slums and think nothing of them. But when the Lord looks at them, He sees precious sons and daughters, He sees warriors, He sees the future leaders of this nation.

"...bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of
ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of
praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD
for the display of his splendor."
