Dear friend!
Thank you taking the time to read this letter! 2013 has been a year of transition for me. After a period of settling into the community at New Philadelphia Church, I feel like God is leading me into a time of deepening my love for Him and for His creation. For eleven days, from Sunday, 2nd of February until Thursday, 13th February, I will be part of a team from New Philadelphia Church, an English-speaking ministry located in Seoul, Korea, going to the state of Manipur in India. This mission trip is about sharing the love of Christ with those who have not yet met Him and also stirring up a passion for Christ in the next generation of believers.
Manipur state is located in the north-east of India, in the
region bordering Myanmar (Burma).
In January 2011, New Philadelphia Church sent a team to minister
in this region and it was a trip marked by the Spirit of God
bringing freedom from sin and shame, manifesting in power through
healings, signs and wonders. Traditionally this has been a
politically volatile state, with conflicts among the various
ethnic groups in that region, between the Kuki and the Naga
people in particular. But recently God has been
transforming the area through His love and grace and the region
is experiencing increasing peace and prosperity. Manipur is
now considered an important Christian hub in India, along with
the south.
During our week in Manipur, our focus ministries will be reaching out to the children, providing training for the young leaders in the churches and also holding revival services to breathe new life and release fire into the local ministries. Our hope is to empower the people of Manipur with the New Philly anointing so that they go and do likewise.
As part of our preparation, along with my own deposit of ₩750,000, I must raise an additional ₩750,000 (approx. $750) to contribute towards the overall costs of this mission trip. As part of my role with NPWM, the missions network at Jeilsungdo Presbyterian Church, the Korean mother church of New Philadelphia, I will also be spending approximately an extra week in Delhi, visiting Grace Home orphanage, a place that pours out the love of the Father on the fatherless of the city. This trip will be self-financed but I ask for your prayers over me, that I may experience and truly understand the Father’s heart for His creation.
