Support Letter for Summer Missions 2011

I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord swore he would give to your father

to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and to their descendants after them.

Dt 1:8

Dear family and friends,

I hope this letter finds you and your family healthy and in peace!  I wanted to take this time to share with you about a mission trip that I’ll be serving on this summer. God has given me the opportunity to join New Philly’s summer mission trip to Japan. I will be there from July 11 to July 18 serving with a team of 14 servant-hearted people from my church, New Philadelphia (newphiladelphiachurch.com).

I’m so excited to go to Japan. Last winter in 2010, I went to Baguio, Philippines, for a short mission trip.  In Baguio, God showed me so many miracles, signs, and wonders.  Mostly, it was my privilege to be a partner with God! Having witnessed the great hunger that my Filipino brothers and sisters had, it excites me for this mission trip.

Our team will be doing relief work in Sendai (Northern Japan), the area devastated by the Tsunami earlier this year. We will be loving on our brothers and sisters who have lost everything. We will then spend several days in Tokyo.  We will be ministering at services and connecting with local pastors, and especially sow into the youth meetings. It is through the youth that God will truly release His revival in this land. During this trip, I want to share the love of God with people on behalf of Korea, and it will break down the wall between Japan and Korea. I believe it will bring reconciliation between the nations and God will be exalted higher.

On March 11, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake hit northern Japan, triggering tsunamis that caused widespread devastation and crippled a nuclear power plant. Japan's National Police Agency reported that the death toll from the March 11 disaster had risen to 13,013, with another 14,608 still missing. Also, Japanese police said 4,683 people were injured. More than 151,000 others have been displaced.  God’s heart is breaking for them. We’ve been praying for our brothers and sisters in Japan for years, and I believe that it is time for us to go to the nation and share God’s love.  He’s calling them out of the darkness and into His marvelous light.   I’d like to ask you to join me in prayer for this nation and for our mission trip.  Your support and prayers are essential as we break through these grounds, bringing good news.  Also, in order to go, I must raise 675,000 KRW.  If you feel led to support this mission financially, please support us through this website. I really appreciate your support! Thank you for reading and God bless!

Yours truly,

Jen Kim
