Greetings! How are you? I hope that his letter finds you and your family in perfect health and rejoicing in the Lord! I would like to take this time to share with you about a missions trip that I’ll be serving in this summer with my church.
From July 11th to July 18th, I will be in Japan serving on a missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia” (newphiladelphiachurch.com). My team consists of 14 servant-hearted people, ranging from university students to school teachers, who are giving up their vacation days and free time to go to the nation and display the love of Jesus Christ. We will be working with an American missionary, Tim Huber, who has been ministering in Japan for 15 years. We will be doing relief work in north-eastern Japan, evangelizing, praying for the sick and doing other forms of ministry.
This is my first missions trip with New Philadelphia Church and I am so excited. Japan is considered one of the most unreached countries in the world, with a Christian population of about 1.5% of the total population. After the devastating earthquake and resulting tsunami that took place in Fukushima, 11th March 2011, of a magnitude of 9 on the Richter scale, 14,000 deaths and 12,000 people missing have been reported, with 131,000 still living in evacuation centres. There has also been a nuclear radiation threat to the people living in the affected areas. It is our prayer that as we go in the anointing of the Holy Spirit, instead of “despair” and “mourning” there will be supernatural “hope” and “joy”.
I hope that you will share in my enthusiasm and joy at this open door. At this time, I’d like to ask you for your prayers. I would like to recruit you to partner with me in prayer during my time in the field. Satan will be on the attack but I’m asking that you will stand with me in declaring Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against us shall prosper!
