Dear Friends,
Greetings! How are you? I hope that this letter finds you and your family happy, healthy and rejoicing in the Lord! I wanted to take this time to share with you about a mission trip that I’ll be serving in this summer.
From July 11 to July 19, I will be joining the New Philadelphia Church (newphiladelphiachurch.com) family in a mission trip to Japan. I attended NPC while I was teaching at a hakwon (academy) from 2009-2010 in Seoul, Korea. This Spirit-filled church really deepened my faith and connection with God. And so, after going on a mission trip to Indonesia last year with NPC, I am thrilled to go on missions again this year to Japan!
My team consists of 13 other servant-hearted people who are giving up their vacation days and free time to go to this nation and display the love of Jesus Christ. Like Korea, Japan has grown quickly from war-torn times to an economically prosperous country. However, the level of Christian influence has been so different in both countries! Korea has the biggest church in the world, but Japan is still in need of more of Him. Thus, this mission will involve seeking better ways to bring God’s love and light (1 Peter 2:9) to His people in Japan.
I hope that you will share in my enthusiasm and joy at this open door. At this time, I’d like to ask you for your prayers. I would like to recruit you to partner with me in prayer during my time in the field. The enemy will be on the attack, but I’m asking that you will stand with me in declaring Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against us shall prosper! Also, in order to go, I must raise 1 million won.
