Dear friend,
I hope this letter finds you well, healthy and growing in intimacy with God and with our brothers and sisters at New Philadelphia. As you know, I have been attending New Philly since February and it has been amazing. God has changed my life from a life of bondage, exhaustion and unforgiveness to a life filled with freedom, joy, abundant in relationships with God and my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. I want to thank you for being part of this process, as it has been a blessing to grow together in the Lord.
As you may already know, the current situation in Thailand is quite devastating. But we have faith God is in control of this situation, and He will raise and send His servants with the power to heal the sick and bind the brokenhearted in the form of missions and the empowerment of indigenous leaders. In July 2011, Bangkok and its surroundings experienced its worst flooding in the last half of the century, affecting two million people and killing near 400. Child prostitution has also greatly spread in the last few years with nearly 800,000 sexually enslaved children, struggling with increasing HIV/AIDS issues due to poor government health protection. Moreover, 95% of Thailand’s population is Buddhist with less than 1% of the people being Christians. The enemy has established big strongholds in this country, but it is our team’s desire that through the power of the Holy Spirit we will shine the light of Jesus Christ in the darkness and establish the Kingdom of God in Thailand.
Having said this, from January 16 to the 27, a team of 16 including myself will be in Thailand serving on a mission’s trip to show the love of Christ and help with the flooding relief. We will be holding youth revival services in various churches, encouraging the pastors and missionaries, and giving out basic supplies and medicine in and around Bangkok. This past summer, the Holy Spirit moved powerfully bringing salvations, physical healings and church revivals in the nations of Bangladesh, Malaysia and Japan. And we are praying and contending the Holy Spirit will move with even more power in Thailand.
Hence I would like you to partner with me in what God is about to do in Bangkok in both prayer and in fundraising. My goal is to raise KRW 600,000 to cover the remaining cost of my trip, so if you may contribute please visit http://support.newphilly.cc. Even though the situation in Thailand may seem chaotic and impossible to solve in the natural, we believe we serve a much bigger God whose words are sharper than any two edged sword, discerning of the heart of men, and whose immeasurable greatness, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, has put all things under His feet before we even arrive to Bangkok.
Thank you so much,
Young Kim

Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man… when he turned his back God gave him another heart. And all these signs came to pass that day (1 Samuel 10:6, 9).
