Hello Everyone!
I hope that this letter finds you and your family happy and healthy! God has been working deeply in my life during my time in Korea, so I would like to take this opportunity not only to update you on what that has been happening, but also to give you the opportunity to partner with me in what God is doing here in Asia.
By the grace of God, the past year of my life has been a period of immense spiritual increase. Through fellowship and discipleship at my church here in Seoul (newphiladelphiachurch.com), I have begun to fully embrace and understand God’s true character as my loving heavenly father. I have established a relationship with Him that is deeper and more intimate that just knowing the right answers to Sunday School questions. I have experienced the power of His love to heal longstanding emotional wounds both in me and in others. In short, I have tasted a small portion of His goodness, and now I yearn for more!
The best part about spiritual growth is that it is meant to be shared with others. From July 21 to July 28, I will have a chance to share the abundance of life I have found through Jesus Christ with the people of Malaysia. Along with thirteen other servant-heart individuals from my church, I will be traversing the jungles of Borneo, spreading the joy and peace that comes only from above. The population of Malaysia is less than ten percent Christian, according to a census taken in 2000; Muslims constituted more than sixty percent of all respondents. But despite these numbers and the hostility that exists in parts of Malaysia toward the gospel, my team and I are confident that God has given us authority “to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent [us] to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners” (Isaiah 61:1)!
Hoping that you will share in my enthusiasm for what God is doing in Malaysia, I could really use your prayer support during this time. Believing that it is His will to powerfully encounter the people of Malaysia, I humbly ask that you petition heaven with me, evoking the full promise of 1 John 5:14, “that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” Additionally, I need to raise 850,000krw (about $850) to cover the reminder of my trip costs.
