Hello, welcome to my support page!
I am very excited to share that that after three-and-a-half long years of not being able to go out on short-term missions, an opportunity has opened up for me to go to Manado, INDONESIA with a team of 9 brothers and sisters from my church from January 9 - January 16!
In 2012 and 2013, I went on three missions trips with my church (to Australia, Cambodia, and the Philippines). Those trips were some of the most memorable, powerful, beautiful experiences I've ever had. Connecting with local pastors, getting to know a new beautiful culture, ministering to people so different from me and so full of life, and witnessing God bring healing in amazing, miraculous ways was humbling and life-changing. The trip preparation takes a lot of time and energy, and the ministry schedule while there can be rigorous, but all those costs are nothing compared to the joy of participating in God's work.
The past three years I have been living on the Southern coast of Korea in the beautiful city of Busan as part of a church plant. It has been been a challenging and fulfilling experience, but I’ve missed being sent out to the missions field! I'm so happy my work vacation dates have finally lined up to allow me to go!
Manado is in the North Sulawesi province of Indonesia, and the local religions are Islam and tribal animalism (belief in spirits). I have never been to Indonesia, and I am very excited to be sent to this country in particular, because the majority of the girls I am currently shepherding in my small group are Indonesian college students. (And one of them is on my team as well!) This will be my church’s first trip to this area of Indonesia, and we will be ministering alongside two local pastors, Pastors Rentje Rendus and Daud Moningka. I’m excited to meet these men of God, witness how God is moving in Manado, and be part of a special time of relational connection and encounter with the truth and power of God.
I am also excited to give you the opportunity to partner with me in the work that God will do!
First, I invite you to cover my team in prayer. Prayer is essential to our trip––the battles we face on the mission field are spiritual in nature, and prayer is the main way we fight them. Please let me know if you’d like to commit to praying for us, and I will add you to my update list!
