Beloved,
I hope you have been doing well, and that you’ve been prospering in the year of increase! I’d like to share some exciting things I’ll be doing in the upcoming weeks.
This summer I have the privilege of going to Myanmar (also known as Burma) with my brothers and sisters here at New Philadelphia (www.newphilly.cc). We’ll be holding revival services, ministering to the leadership, and empowering the people there – expanding the Kingdom of God!
Three years ago, a team of 10, including myself, entered the country with a passion and desire to see God’s power come like never before. We prayed, fasted, lied on our visas – simply because we knew God was calling us to go and minister to the Burmese people. At that time, Myanmar was a Buddhist military dictatorship, ranked by Forbes Magazine as the most corrupt country on Earth, ahead of North Korea. Yet despite these obstacles, God answered our prayers during that trip, as we saw God’s fire fall – equipping the local pastors, setting free those under demonic bondage, and releasing his love on the land!
Since we left, Myanmar has changed dramatically. God’s power not only equipped the church, but I believe it shifted something in the heavenly places! In the past three years the leaders of Myanmar have freed many political prisoners, started to fight corruption, and Myanmar has even become a parliamentary democracy! God has been on the move in the land – but I believe He desires to do even more.
The Bible says that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. In the Great Commission, God sent us out into the nations not simply to build houses, clean up trash, and to provide social services, but to build His house and to disciple nations (Matt 28:19-20). It is our responsibility, our call, and our mandate to impact the world.
