Greetings to all of you. I hope all is well with you. In these past seasons, I prayed a lot to God and feel that God is calling me to release His Kingdom this coming season through missionary. Thus, I want to invite you into this journey with me to see God glorified in this mission field.
This winter, more specifically from January 30th to February 6th 2015, I will be going to Yangon, Myanmar, alongside with 10 other God-fearing members and leaders from New Philadelphia Church. (newphiladelphiachurch.com)
Just to share to you a brief history of Christianity in the land of Burma. The first recorded baptism of a Burmese did not happen until 1819 when missionary Rev Judson and his wife arrived in the so then called Burma in the year of 1813. Judson worked hard learning Burmese, compiling a Burmese-English dictionary and then translated the first Burmese Bible. It was through the breaking of spiritual grounds and getting to know the culture of the local people that they were able to reach out and share the Good News.
In the same spirit, we will be strengthening and encouraging the students at Evangel Bible College in Yangon and Immanuel Bible College in Pyinoolwin. We will also be ministering at local churches, lead revival meetings and praying for the sick during our visit there.
I hope that this letter has already began to stir up your heart for the people in Myanmar. There are two different ways that you can partner with me in this. First, you can keep us in your prayers. You can like our church's Facebook page (facebook.com/newphilly) for updated prayer requests.
The other one way would be through your support financially. I will need a total of 1,700,000KRW (approximately 1,700USD) to cover all of the trip expenses. I myself will be paying 30% (510,000KRW), meanwhile will need donation support of 1,190,000KRW (approximately 1,190USD) from you guys.
