Hello,
I want to share with you an exciting ministry opportunity I’ve been given this winter. During the period of January 9th – 16th of 2017, I will be going to Myanmar with a mission team from my church “New Philadelphia”. We will be ministering to the local churches, encouraging the local pastors and believers, and making Christ known by sharing His love.
Myanmar is a country known for its beautiful colonial architecture and abundance of natural resources, such as gems, jade, oil, and gas. It is also known, however, for its many golden pagodas, ancient temples, and long history of Buddhism – of which the majority of the people in the country celebrate. Christians, on the other hand, being the minority in a nation predominantly Buddhist and long governed by the military government, face heavy persecution everywhere they go. They are faced with greater oppression by the people and government who support Buddhist movements and seek to restrict the influence of Christians.
Although various democratic and economic reforms have been made in the recent years, the country will not experience true revival unless the church rises up. Even in the midst of intense persecution and oppression, we want to see the local church grow even more rapidly and multiply fruit for His Kingdom. Our team’s desire and prayer is that Christ would become Myanmar’s true cultural and kingdom heritage.
I’m so excited about this opportunity and how God will move through our team, and I invite you to take part in this journey of faith by partnering with us.
