Hello there! I’m so glad you are reading this letter :). I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m going on missions to Nepal, from January 11-21 with 12 other church members from New Philadelphia Church! As you know, Nepal was struck with a destructive earthquake that devastated the people and the land. We as a team, want to go encourage and build up the churches and pastors in the surrounding area. It’s hard to predict what will happen, but one thing is for sure—God will work His miracles to comfort the people of Nepal and we want to be part of that.
To be honest, I’ve had an aversion and fear of missions. In junior high, I attempted to go and on the way there, I had my first grand mal seizure and was unable to attend. Since then, I haven’t tried. I lost sight of what missions actually can do for the community and the pastors serving there. I now realize that even if it’s only for one week there’s so much God can do.
When I first signed up for missions, I thought, “What if I get another seizure there? How am I going to afford this trip? This is insane.” However, this isn’t about me. This isn’t about my comforts and my fears—this is what God has told me to do. As His daughter, not only should I do it, but I should also want to. I know He’ll reveal His power during this trip. I will have the opportunity to help Him heal and deliver those who have been struggling and living in bondage.
I hope that you will share my enthusiasm. There are two ways you can partner with me on this missions trip. First I’d like to ask you to pray for me and my team members’ health, and also that God’s love and presence will come and knock everyone’s socks off.
