"And heal the sick there, and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you'" (Luke 10:9).
This winter God has led me to commit to leading a team of 10 church leaders for a week-long mission trip to Nepal. We will be traveling to the capital of Nepal to hold youth revival services, meet with the native pastors to pray for them and encourage them, and visit different churches in the area. We will also travel to some of the surrounding towns to minister.
Nepal is a nation that is steeped in idolatry that was an official Hindu state until just a few years ago. Only 0.5% of the population are Christian and animal sacrifices are routine all around the country. We will be going to visit native pastors at the same time they will be hosting Christian pastors from Tibet for a small conference. Despite the spiritual intensity of the area, the Christians there and in Tibet are remaining strong in their faith and God’s kingdom is advancing more and more.
This will be my 4th mission trip with my church. I have already visited Indonesia (2006), Philippines (2007), and Myanmar (2009), with God’s presence and power increasing in visible ways with each trip. Our church has been going glory to glory. In Myanmar we had one physical healing, one of the first for our church. And since then healings have become more and more common for teams, with some trips having over a hundred people healed during their time in the country. Also, during a recent Bangladesh trip over 1,000 people came to Christ. Wow!
I’m not sure what to expect for our upcoming trip, but I know that God desires to challenge me in preaching even more boldly and to connect deeper with His heart for the nations. I’m praying to be further equipped in the spiritual gifts and to see healing released into the people, both physical healing and inner healing of the heart.
