Dear Friends and Family,
How are you? I hope you had a blessed Christmas and that you’re looking forward to the new things God has in store for you in 2011. I am excited to kick off the new year with a missions trip that I wanted to share about with you.
As you may know, I moved back to Korea four months ago and have been attending a church called “New Philadelphia” (newphiladelphiachurch.com). I’ve known the core leaders of this church since 2007 through an affiliated campus ministry I served in while studying abroad at Yonsei University. This church is all about raising up an army of mighty warriors who will go out in the anointing of the Holy Spirit to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim freedom for the captives (Isaiah 61:1).
From January 30 to February 6, I will be going on my first ever missions trip with a team of 13 servant-hearted people from New Philadelphia. To my great joy, we will be going to the Philippines—the country I grew up in—specifically to a northern region called Baguio City. Our ultimate mission is to display the love of Jesus Christ as we partner with local indigenous pastors in visiting churches, leading children's ministry, praying for the sick, and ministering in the power of the Holy Spirit. We are pressing in and asking God to open the floodgates of heavens over Baguio!
I am grateful for this open door and hope that you will share in my excitement. I would like to ask for your prayers during my time in the field. Your prayers are powerful (James 5:16) and greatly appreciated. I also need to raise 700,000 KRW (approx. 700 USD) on my own to be able to go on this trip. I strongly encourage you to visit our fundraising site http://support.newphilly.cc under Team Baguio. A form is also included for you to consider helping me this way.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
Happy New Year! Blessings to you and your loved ones! =)
