It is abnormal for a Christian
not to have an appetite for the impossible
It has been written into our spiritual DNA to hunger
for the impossibilities around us
to bow at the name of Jesus. (Bill Johnson- Bethel Church)

December 30, 2010

Dear _______________,

Hello from the Philippines! I am currently sitting inside Manila International Airport about to leave for “home” (Seoul, South Korea). I just concluded an amazing missions trip with Mahal Foundation, where we had the opportunity to love some of the poorest families in Manila and spend Christmas with a group of orphan boys. Its my second time in the Philippines in the last 5 months and in 30 days I’ll be coming back for my third!

From January 30 to February 6, I will be going to Baguio, Philippinesfor a short-term missions trip with New Philadelphia Church (newphiladelphiachurch.com). I will be serving there with 12 other brothers and sisters with a sole purpose to love as Jesus loved, pray and heal the sick, host revival services, and “proclaim freedom for the captives.” (Isaiah 61:1).

As many of you may know, I made a decision this past August of 2010to leave the comforts of home and school to embark on a foreign and exciting new journey, a journey in which God has been revealing to me more of his unconditional love and wisdom. One of the biggest blessings in coming to Seoul, South Korea has been New Philadelphia Church, a place of an anointed and loving presence of God where my hunger for God has grown tremendously.

When I first heard about the New Philadelphia Winter Missions Trip, I had no thought or intention of going. “I’m already going to the Philippines for Christmas, so why would I go again?” These words played through my mind, justifying my reasons not to go. Then 2 weeks ago, God gave me Hiswords: Don’t sell yourself short. It was a call from God reminding me to continue pursuing Him radicallyin this new season of my life. My purpose of being here in Korea is not to secure financial wealth or stability, or to simply take a break from school, but it’s to passionately pursue after Him. It was at this time that I was able to faithfully press in and secure a spot on the missions trip, despite missing the deadline.

30 days left and I’m growing more and more excited to see God’s Kingdom and power invade the hearts of His people in the Philippines! We are pressing in and anxious to witness God work with more signs and wonders to heal the deaf, restore the blind, and declare freedom to the lost!

I write to you asking if you can partner with me financiallyand prayerfullyas I go on this missions trip to Baguio, Philippines. I would like to ask if you could cover me in prayer daily, prior and during the trip, so that no attack of the enemy, in the form of illnesses, disunity, and spiritual will prosper. Also, in order for me to go, in addition to my personal contribution of 500,000won, I need to individually raise an additional 700,000won (~$605). Would you be able to support me financially? A form is attached to this letter if you consider helping me in this way. Thank you so much for reading this!

In Him,
