From January 26th to February 2nd, I will go to West Papua, Indonesia with a team of eleven to serve on a missions trip with my church “New Philadelphia” (www.newphiladelphiachurch.com).
West Papua is the largest province of Indonesia and the western half of the country, Papua New Guinea. In a predominantly Muslim nation, West Papua is the fastest-growing Christian province. As New Philly is all about being blessed to be a blessing, our ministry focus will be on empowering leaders of local congregations and students of Erikson-Tritt Theological College. We also plan to hold revival services and minister at citywide prayer meetings. For reference, look at testimonies from New Philly Summer Missions 2013 to West Papua on our church website.
As I plan to serve as the team’s main preacher, I’m ecstatic. The people of West Papua are hungry and on fire for the Lord! I’ve heard stories where the electricity went out during worship services, but people would still worship God because they were so hungry. I’m humbled and honored to bless (and be blessed by) a people so in love with the Lord as they shine God’s light to their surrounding Muslim neighbors.
