Dear friends,
Hello! As you know from the letters sent to you, I will be going on a missions trip this summer.
From January 12th-21st, I will be in West Papua, Indonesia serving alongside 11 other brothers and sisters from my church, New Philadelphia (newphiladelphiachurch.com). We are a vibrant mix of Koreans, Australians and Americans being sent out from New Philadelphia Seoul and Sydney campuses.
Our team will be ministering to local pastors and leaders, as well as holding youth and young adult revival services.
Whilst Islam is the predominant religion in Indonesia, there is a growing Christian remnant in the nation, including in West Papua. We believe that God is raising up mighty warriors in West Papua who will take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the rest of Indonesia, even in the face of persecution. So we count it a joy and privilege that New Philadelphia has been able to partner with local church leaders for several years in the good work that God is doing in West Papua.
At a personal level, I was compelled to go on missions this season after witnessing the baptisms of several brothers and sisters of New Philly Sydney. God reminded me of the joy of my own salvation and that there is indeed nothing more beautiful than a transformed life in Christ! I am excited to witness and take part in what God is doing amongst the people of West Papua.
